Madame X consisted of Los Angeles based vocalists Iris Parker, Valerie Victoria and Alisa Randolph. Producer/songwriter/musician Bernadette Cooper, the founding member and drummer of the premier all-female self-contained pop/funk band Klymaxx who hand-picked its members.
i was the wardrobe stylist for these dolls as they appeared on soul train, showtime @ the apollo, and mtv.
iris parker eventually performed with mary wilson of the supremes @ the white house for president bill clinton.

because of time constrantes, the Soul Train staff forbid costume changes, but during a brief intermission i gave the girls a complete costume change.
all~the~while host DON CORNELIUS looking over my shoulder, first with anger, then with amazement.
i said to him- "i'm sorry don, but the girls insisted."
his response- "you just do what you need to do young man." and he flashed me a knowing smile.

the title is based on a lipstick of the same name purchased and worn everyday by IRIS PARKER.
