he may be all talk for now, but that is a speech! that man can talk
this speech is historic.. as are many events during obama's presidency. this speech make me happy.
this speech is so powerful.. obama can talk people into anything.
i am so pleased to have obama as president... BUT.....he is making allot of promises to the gay community. let's hold him to it.. he has asked the gay community to hold him to it.... interesting note.. when lady gaga, (obama was her opening act) was asked in an interview if obama would make good on his promises, she replied- "I DON'T KNOW."
here's responses on joy behar's show-

NYC LEATHER STREET FAIR IS NO LONGER WELCOME @ THE MEATPACKING DISCTRICT
what was once the VAULT and J's BAR is now a bad, trendy italian restaurant, what was once the great skinhead/fetish artist-ATILLA RICHARD LUKCAS's studio is now THE GAP,
what was once THE LURE is now BAGATELLE.
i used to live across from the meatpacking disctrict on 14th street during the 80s. i had leather bars & sex clubs across the street and tranny-hookers to my right......
It's hard to imagine there are any non-yuppified streets in Manhattan anymore, but West 13th Street is now home to the Highline-straddling Standard Hotel, which means the Meatpacking District has standards, people. Not wanting to upset hotel guests with the West Village Leather and Bear Street Fair October parade of leather daddies and bull whips, the Standard took its opposition to the annual event to the mayor's office, which happily complied.
Meaning: Bears and cubs have to move somewhere else. With six weeks to go, The Villager reports there's still no home for the event which bills itself as an educational opportunity to teach BDSM aficionados proper rope-tying and spanking techniques.
A series of events all the more ironic, since the Standard Hotel has been lapping up the free press from its carefully orchestrated exhibitionist advocacy. Naked people: ok. Leather-clad almost naked people: no thank you, please.

IRVING PENN- LEGENDARY PHOTOGRAPHER DIES

GAY MARRIAGE...HERE'S WHERE WE'RE AT
Gay Marriage D.C.: Same-Sex Marriage Bill In Washington Seems Unstoppable
WASHINGTON — A bill that would allow same-sex couples to marry in the nation's capital was introduced Tuesday, a measure that even opponents acknowledged seems almost unstoppable.
The bill was nearly certain to pass the D.C. city council, but whether it becomes law is more complicated because Congress gets an opportunity to review D.C. legislation before it takes effect. Still, even challengers in Congress acknowledged the bill was likely to become law.
The city began in July recognizing same-sex marriages performed elsewhere. Congress had a chance to act on that legislation but didn't.
U.S. Rep. Jason Chaffetz, a Republican from Utah who said he would work to defeat the new bill, anticipates that will happen again with the proposal. A spokesman for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said she believed it was a matter for D.C. to decide.
D.C. Councilman David Catania introduced the new measure at a standing-room only council meeting. The independent and one of two openly gay council members said he hopes for a vote in December.
"There is no question that we are about to embark on an exciting journey here in the district," he said.
His bill specifically says religious leaders and institutions are not required to perform the marriages or rent their space for same-sex ceremonies unless they let the public use or rent them.
If the bill becomes law, the city will follow Massachusetts, Connecticut, Iowa and Vermont, which issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples. New Hampshire will begin issuing them in January. New York's decision is pending.
The legislature in Maine has also passed a same-sex marriage bill, but voters will decide in November whether to reverse it. California briefly issued licenses before voters passed a law stopping the practice. come on California.. do we really want to be the last state to legalize gay marriage?- READ MORE-

GAY HISTORY
Using artifacts that participants may have cast off as unimportant, the event brings to life such moments as the Black Cat gay rights protest of 1967, which predated New York's Stonewall riots.
They gathered outside a nightclub called the Black Cat one winter night in 1967, perhaps a few hundred men and women in all, joined together in a moment of happy subversion on a Silver Lake street. Weeks earlier, police had swept through the club and arrested 14 people after witnessing, at the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve, the "crime" of one man kissing another.
It's unlikely any of the protesters had been to an organized gay-rights demonstration -- there had never been one in Los Angeles before that night. Someone brought a camera and snapped a few pictures. Finally the demonstrators dispersed. They put away or threw away the signs they had made- READ MORE-

YOGA INFORMATION
our beloved- Yogi Cameron- has this info i would like to share-
The brain is the cause of stress.
In meditation we are putting aside all that the brain is telling us and we are not thinking any more. There is a reason why Yogis and Gurus came to teach this method of ‘checking out’ as the mind can become obsessed with a few negative thoughts or never stop thinking. One thought leading to the next and the whole life becomes one long thought giving the person a headache called stress.
The yogic methods of dealing with stress are meditation, repetition of mantra, Karma yoga the performing of selfless service and other methods I have mentioned on the site under the 6 paths of Yoga. It is not that you stop doing other things but you approach your whole life of work, family and pleasures from a peaceful yogic manner taking up one of the six paths and incorporating the practices and mentality into all that you do.
To relieve stress the mind need to be focused on other peaceful thoughts and at times not thinking at all. This is difficult at the beginning but once learned never forgotten.- READ MORE-

THE SUPREME COURT WILL HEAR "CRUSH" FETISH CASE
Kittens, brutality, fetish videos, and dogfighting—these aren't the elements of a twisted cable-television show; they're just some of the factors in one of Tuesday's U.S. Supreme Court cases that will kick off the court’s new term. The court will hear the federal government's appeal of U.S. v. Stevens, a circuit court's overturning of a 1999 federal law that makes it a crime to create, sell, or possess depictions of animal cruelty for commercial gain. If the court reverses the lower court's decision and reinstates the law, images showing the intentional torture or killing of animals would be deemed illegal. But technically, so might depictions of bullfighting in Spain or fishing and hunting out of season.
Sexual-fetish videos called “crush videos” became an Internet craze in the late 1990s, picturing women in their bare feet or high heels crushing to death small animals such as mice or kittens. Congress passed a law in 1999 to outlaw the production of the videos, and distribution of them came to a halt- READ MORE-
