HER
the future is now.....
HER is a new film by spike jones staring Joaquin Phoenix as theodore and scarlett johansson as samantha~ theodore's O.S., (operating system).
set in Los angeles in the not too distant future, the story is an urbanite dot com'er who falls in love with his O.S. they chat all day & all night, go on dates, compose music together and have sex. when this is not enough Samantha finds an RG, (real girl) to be a sex surrogate for the evening.
the story is told in a sparse, banal~styled hallmark way- but futuristic. i see hints of 70's sci-fi cult classic~logan's run, and HAL from 2001: a space oddesy.
perhaps this choice of banal story telling is what makes HER so disturbing.
i see a future of soulless individuals who have everything, but think they have nothing because they're so outta touch with their bodies.. in the meantime their emotions are going haywire.
this futuristic dystopia is scary... oh wait.... it is not the future, but the present.
Joaquin Phoenix is a great actor. he single-handedly is the film. he should win an oscar.
spike jones direction is perfect, perhaps too perfect. you get the feeling he also enjoys a relationship with his O.S..
cinematography by hoyte van hoytema and art direction by austin gorg are flawless.. and the costumes by casey storm~ band collar shirts, high waisted pants! can we talk?
somehow i see it.. this will become a trend... the look of 2014.

The film stars Joaquin Phoenix,Amy Adams, Rooney Mara, Olivia Wilde, and Scarlett Johansson as the voice of Samantha. The film centers on a man who develops a relationship with a female voice produced by an intelligent computer operating system.
It marks Jonze's solo screenwriting debut.

is running for president of the united states of america for the 2012 election.
ms crisp says, "It is Time to get a real American in the office of the President congress is wasting our tax money on finding out why monkey, (sic) throw their extrments,(sic) and build a bridge to know were 1.75 millon dollars are wasted each year because of someone in congress thinks up some dumb idea to get money out of us. PALANCA
PALANCA HAS A FOOT FETISH.
palanca, (i like to call him plancha- which means iron) is one of antebellum's artists who creates images of men who love feet.
he really knows how to service those tootsies. i remember one dinner party where palanca went under the table and cleaned my toes like they've never been cleaned before!
palanca was born & raised in peru, now traveling back and forth to los angeles.
he creates his one of a kind drawings on hotel note pads and empty jello boxes.
