novel written by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley
(1797-1851)
the story of scientist Victor Frankenstein, who creates a creature in an unorthodox scientific experiment. Shelley started writing the story when she was 18.
the first edition of the novel was published anonymously in London in 1818.
Shelley travelled through Europe in 1814, journeying along the River Rhine in Germany with a stop in Gernsheim (10 mi) away from Frankenstein Castle, where, two centuries before,
an alchemist was engaged in experiments.
Later, she travelled in the region of Geneva(Switzerland)—where much of the story takes place—and the topic of galvanism and other similar occult ideas were themes of conversation among her companions, particularly her lover and future husband, Percy Shelley. Mary, Percy, Lord Byron and John Polidori decided to have a competition to see who could write the best horror story.
After thinking for days, Shelley dreamt about a scientist who created life and was horrified by what he had made; her dream later evolved into the novel's story.
Frankenstein is infused with elements of the Gothic novel and the Romantic movement. At the same time, it is an early example of science fiction.
Since the novel's publication, the name "Frankenstein" has often been used to refer to the monster itself. However in the novel, the monster is identified by words such as "creature", "monster", "demon", "wretch," "abortion," and "it". Speaking to Victor Frankenstein, the wretch refers to himself as "the Adam of your labours", and elsewhere as someone who "would have [been] your Adam", but is instead "your fallen angel" (which ties to Lucifer in Paradise Lost, which the monster reads,
and relates to the "modern" Prometheus of the book's subtitle).

and the film directed by Freddie Francis.
Trog marks Crawford's last motion picture appearance.

The Amazing Colossal Man
directed by Bert I. Gordon and starring Glenn Langan. The film revolves around a man who grows to over 60 feet tall as the result of an atomic accident. It is an uncredited adaptation of the 1928 Homer Eon Flint short novel The Nth Man.
Jim Nicholson of American International Pictures had the rights to Homer Eon Flint's 1928 novel, The Nth Man about a man who was 10 miles high. Nicholson thought it could be adapted to cash in on the success of The Incredible Shrinking Man
(released six months earlier in 1957.

Krampus is a beast-like creature from the folklore of Alpine countries thought to punish children during the Christmas season who had misbehaved, in contrast with Saint Nicholas, who rewards well-behaved ones with gifts. Krampus is said to capture particularly naughty children in his sack and carry them away to his lair. In Croatian culture in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzeovina, the tale says that on the night of 5th/6th of December, all the children have to clean up their boots and put them on the window, together with their letter to St. Nicholas. In the morning they will receive a surprise. The good kids get a gift from St. Nicholas and bad kids get gift from Krampus - a wooden stick.
Krampus is represented as a beast-like creature, generally demonic in appearance. The creature has roots in Germanic folklore; however, its influence has spread far beyond German borders. Traditionally young men dress up as the Krampus in Austria, Romania, southern Bavaria, South Tyrol, northern Friuli, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia and Croatia during the first week of December, particularly on the evening of 5 December (the eve of Saint Nicholas Day on many church calendars), and roam the streets frightening children with rusty chains and bells.
