GAY MARRIAGE WILL BE THE LAW OF THE LAND WITHIN...... MINUTES
Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy this morning granted an immediate stay after receiving an emergency request from the State of Idaho.
The AP reports the stay was granted only "minutes" after Idaho's request was filed.
The state's request said that without a stay, state and county officials would have been required to begin issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples at 10 a.m. EDT.Kennedy's order requested a response from the plaintiffs involved in Idaho's gay marriage lawsuit by the end of day Thursday.
Yesterday afternoon the 9th Circuit struck down same-sex marriage bans in Idaho and Nevada as unconstitutional.

It is not clear yet if the order includes Nevada, although it appears to. More to come.

Nevertheless, Wednesday’s order from Justice Kennedy suggests that, whatever the Court intended to accomplish when they denied review in several marriage equality cases on Monday and effectively legalized same-sex marriages in much of the country, they are not yet ready to get out of the way completely and allow equality to flourish in all fifty states.

RICHARD RAMIREZ IS DEAD
wow!~ back in the day queer LA punk band- brian grillo of lock up~ asked me to play richard ramirez in their music video.... at the time to be produced by david geffen. this never happened... now this~
Richard Ramirez, the demonic serial killer known as the Night Stalker who left satanic signs at murder scenes and mutilated victims' bodies during a reign of terror in the 1980s, died early Friday in a hospital, a prison official said.
Ramirez, 53, had been taken from San Quentin's death row to a hospital where authorities said he died of liver failure. Prison officials said they could not release further details on the cause of death, citing federal patient privacy laws.

THE PARADISE GARAGE
It was founded by Michael Brody, its sole proprietor, and was located at 84 King Street,
in the Hudson Square neighborhood of New York City. It operated from 1976 to 1987
The Paradise Garage's business model was largely inspired by David Mancuso's Loft parties:
no liquor was served, there were no sales of food or beverages, and the club was
not open to the general public.
The sound system was developed, designed and installed by Richard Long of
Richard Long & Associates (RLA), and was said by those who attended to be the
best in New York City at that time. The club has been credited for its influence on
the development of the modern dance club as it is today; unlike other clubs of its time,
the Paradise Garage was focused on dancing rather than social interaction, and it was
the first to put the DJ at the center of attention.
Among those to benefit from what became known as "The Garage Sound" or "Garage Music"
was West End Records, run by Mel Cheren. Among its successes were "Sessomatto" by Sessa Matto,
Karen Young's "Hot Shot," "Heartbeat" by Taana Gardner (remixed by Levan),
"Do It to the Music" by Raw Silk, and "Don't Make Me Wait" by the Peech Boys
(produced by Levan). West End Records folded for a number of years,
re-opening in the late 90s and releasing one of Levan's DJ sets recorded live at the Garage.
As of 2008, the Paradise Garage trademark is now owned by Gay Men's Health Crisis (GMHC).
The unique and eclectic style of disco and dance music played at the Garage gave rise
to the descriptive terms "garage," "garage style" and "garage classic"
(to describe a record that was made famous or is associated with the Paradise Garage).
When the term "garage music" is used in reference to the Paradise Garage,
it does not exclusively mean house music, although certain house tracks may
be considered to be garage classics. House music as a genre got its start
from the Garage's house DJ Larry Levan and his contemporaries,
Frankie Knuckles and Nicky Siano who were both also influential disc jockeys.
These disc jockeys played all kinds of music so long as it was danceable;
at the Paradise Garage, one was liable to hear The Clash and The Police
as well as traditional "disco" artists like Gwen Guthrie and Sylvester.
Levan is remembered by all for his ability to choose and play different records from
different types of music and make it all fit together.
I have a personal memory of my BF @ the time, (1985) JOEY NAPIERKOWSKI taking me to the entrance of the PARADISE GARAGE.
we had been out on a date, as we were walking he found a big wheel toy tricycle in the trash. he picked it up and we walked all over NYC with him holding his newly found big wheel. we walked by the paradise garage... they didn't let us in with joey's big wheel...

Madame X consisted of Los Angeles based vocalists Iris Parker, Valerie Victoria and Alisa Randolph. Producer/songwriter/musician Bernadette Cooper, the founding member and drummer of the premier all-female self-contained pop/funk band Klymaxx who hand-picked its members.
i was the wardrobe stylist for these dolls as they appeared on soul train, showtime @ the apollo, and mtv.
iris parker eventually performed with mary wilson of the supremes @ the white house for president bill clinton.

because of time constrantes, the Soul Train staff forbid costume changes, but during a brief intermission i gave the girls a complete costume change.
all~the~while host DON CORNELIUS looking over my shoulder, first with anger, then with amazement.
i said to him- "i'm sorry don, but the girls insisted."
his response- "you just do what you need to do young man." and he flashed me a knowing smile.

THE END OF SUNSET JUNCTION??
By a 3-1 vote, the Los Angeles Board of Public Works has denied the Sunset Junction Neighborhood Alliance operating permits for its 2011 street fair, putting the three-decade-old event in serious jeopardy just days before its scheduled start Saturday.
Citing nearly $400,000 in unpaid fees for both the 2010 and 2011 festivals, some of which the festival's organizers disputed, this afternoon the board approved a motion to deny the permits. The board did leave open the possibility that if festival founder Michael McKinley could raise the estimated $141,978.57 in fees owed for the 2011 fair, the board could reconvene Wednesday to reassess the permits.

RUPERT MURDOCH IN FREE FALL!
Independent directors of News Corp. are beginning to discuss whether or not Rupert Murdoch can stay on as the CEO of the company he founded and has almost completely dominated, Bloomberg is reporting.
