LOVE & DEATH IN LONG ISLAND

LOVE & DEATH IN LONG ISLAND, (1996)
Giles De'Ath (John Hurt), a widower, stuffy British author, gets locked out of his house one day and opts to see an E.M. Forster adaptation at a local cinema to pass the time. He mistakenly goes into the wrong theater and, as he is about to leave the puerile American film, notices a young actor Ronnie Bostock (Jason Priestley) who immediately strikes his fancy. From there, we go on a journey with Giles as his obsession with the mediocre young actor goes from slight interest to a real obsession. This evolution ultimately brings him to Chesterton, Long Island, home of the actor. His miraculous encounter with the lad in some ways pushes the reserved Brit's emotional threshold over the top. One of the most touching movies of the wonderful John Hurt.

THE OBAMAS ARE MOVING TO PALM SPRINGS!

The Obamas are reportedly moving to California.
Despite renting this family home in Washington DC from January, they are said to have purchased a new house in Rancho Mirage, a city located just outside Palm Springs in California, according to
The New York Post.  Rancho Mirage is home to the presidential getaway Sunnylands –
said to be the West Coast version of Camp David – meaning that family have probably visited plenty of times and that's why they have decided to settle there.  Although they have already purchased the property, they won't be moving any time soon. The family plans to stay in Washington DC until Sasha graduates from high school.

ANITA HILL FOR SUPREME COURT

“Anita Hill For Supreme Court
“Now THAT’S Justice!
“Anita Hill is a highly qualified legal scholar with all the right qualifications to be a Supreme Court Justice. She will be an excellent choice to make the most important decisions facing our judiciary.”
In case you’re wondering, this is indeed the same Anita Hill who accused Justice Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment when she worked for him at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) back in the 1980s. After lengthy confirmation hearings, Thomas was narrowly confirmed by the Senate when he complained that the Judiciary Committee was attempting to carry out a “high-tech lynching” of him.
