TOM OF FINLAND FOUNDATION HITS 28 YEARS!
TOM OF FINLAND, Untitled (From "Kake" Vol. 25), 1984, Pen & ink on paper, © 1984 Tom of Finland Foundation
28 years ago today~ TOM OF FINLAND & DURK DEHNER created the
TOM OF FINLAND FOUNDATION.
touko laaksonen aka tom of finland~ circa~ 1944
The first goal of the newly formed Tom of Finland Foundation was to offer a safe haven for the original drawings, which were scattered all over the globe. At that time, Tom estimated he had created upwards of three thousand works. Averaged over a career span of forty-five years, this comes out to approx five drawings per month.
28 years larer~ durk, sharp and a host of volenteers continue to work at preserving homowerotic art not just for tom, but many artists~ including me~ rick castro.
happy anniversary~congrads guys!

INDIAN COW TRAMPLING RITUAL
as you know~ cows are considered sacred in india, but this ritual is perhaps a bit over the top.
