In January 1927, at the height of the fizzy Jazz Age, one of Hollywood’s most notorious addresses threw open its doors.
Formerly the home to luminous silent screen star, Alla Nazimova, the Garden of Allah Hotel on Sunset Boulevard
welcomed the famously infamous answering Hollywood’s siren call.
From Bogie and Bacall, Errol Flynn, Dorothy Parker and F. Scott Fitzgerald, Tallulah Bankhead,
Marlene Dietrich, Harpo Marx, to Leopold Stowkowski and Sergei Rachmaninoff,
the residents of the Garden of Allah witnessed the golden age of Hollywood from the front row.
On October 4th, 2013, Antebellum gallery invites you to join Martin Turnbull,
author of the Garden of Allah novels, and hear the story of a lesbian Hollywood icon.
