THE CHATEAU ELYSEE~ HOLLYWOOD

(1929)* - Exterior view of the French style Chateau Elysée,  located at 5930 Franklin Avenue, (@ bronson)  in Hollywood. Originally built as a luxury  hotel/apartment house in 1929 by Eleanor Ince,  the widow of Thomas H. Ince, the successful pioneer silent film producer. according to hollywood lore~  thomas ince was murdered by  newspaper tycoon~ william randolph hearst  aboard his yacht~ the oneida  sailing from his castle in san simeon   to san diego. the movie called "the cat's meow,"(2001)  depicted these events. it was rumored that hearst paid off the mortgage  to the chateau elysee after the funeral as a "gift"  to widow~ elanor ince. unfortunately the building is now part of the Celebrity Center International of the Church of Scientology. Scientology owns many of the classic  buildings of original hollywood.
