In Youth is Pleasure
the second published novel by the English writer and painter Denton Welch.
First published in February 1945, (identified as 1930 by Welch's biographer Michael De-La-Noy) by Routledge.
It was also the last novel to be issued in his lifetime.
Set "several years" before World War Two, it tells the story of a fifteen-year-old boy, Orvil Pym,
who spends a summer holiday at a country hotel outside London with his widowed father and two brothers.
