German actor best remembered for his roles in films such as
The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari,(1920),
The Man Who Laughs,(1928,and Casablanca,(1942.
Vedit also stared in Different from the Others,(1919)
a German film produced during the Weimar Republic.
The story was co-written by Richard Oswald and Magnus Hirschfeld,
It is believed to be the first pro-gayfilm in the world.
