ANTEBELLUM'S 3RD annual
GORE VIDAL BIRTHDAY TEA SALON & HAPPY HOUR
was an intellectual dream!
our host DAVID KARNES @ his "house on top of pillars overlooking the city."
we started off on the wooden balcony with tea @ 5pm sharp introduced by
MYRA BRECKINRIDGE.
i served fortnum & mason black tea, hand blended with cinnamon stick, peppercorn, allspice & roses.
accompanied by various sweeties from canters.
following right into happy hour, we then moved to david's outdoor amphitheater,
(which i dubbed~ "the erotic hollywood bowl")
where i recited the last scenes of both the
1948 & 1965 versions of
CITY AND THE PILLAR.
this was acted out perfectly by
kinky thespians~ nicholas oliver and jeremy ronceros.
