the iconic actress that embodied the quirkiy 1970s has died of cancer. she was 74.

on a personal note, i worked for karen black way back in 1984. she was creating a 
one~ woman~show off broadway, NYC. choreographer  toni basil asked me & my partner michi if we would design karen's costumes. we did.....
 meeting her, working with her and dealing with her was a bizarre experience. she was as eccentric as they came. at the time she was a scientologist. 
the show was a bomb, but the one highlight, (as in campy) was her rendition of david bowie's time.
