ECHO PARK LAKE RE~OPENS!

Echo Park Lake was originally built in the 1860s as a reservoir for drinking water. Today The Lake is a Los Angeles icon that functions primarily as a detention basin in the City’s storm drain system, while providing recreational benefits and wildlife habitat. Echo Park Lake also plays host to community events, such as the Lotus Festival at Echo Park.
The City of Los Angeles  has been rehabilitating Echo Park Lake to remedy its stormwater pollution problem, meet the State’s water quality standards, and give the Echo Park community an improved and more sustainable lake to enjoy. They have also re~planted the lotus blossoms.
On saturday~ june 15th @ 10:am ECHO PARK LAKE WILL RE~OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
The city of Los Angeles will host a community event to mark the re~opening.
Antebellum encouraged all to attend.
