SHYBOT
The Italian artist Norma Jeane worked with a team of engineers to design a robot that they subsequently liberated in Palm Desert.
This robot has no function in the traditional sense. It does not serve us; it probably will not enslave us (perhaps only our imagination). Instead, this robot is programmed to run. To run immediately, with nervous electric heartbeat, in the opposite direction as soon as it senses the presence of a human being.
Shyness is considered a trait unique to the human condition — no animals, let alone machines, can be ever be shy. The story goes that shyness is a reflection of our self-consciousness, of our uncertainty about who we are in relationship to a world made up of other uncertain beings. As humans we are condemned to be free: there are no moral supports, no justifications, and no algorithms on which we can base our decisions. We must make and remake our significance within that world, constantly and from moment to moment.

KRAFTWERK @ DISNEY HALL
ok~ i don't care much for disney, and i hate 3D, but i sure am glad i went to see
KRAFTWERK AT DISNEY HALL!
the last time i saw kraftwerk was way back in 79 at a small venue in hollywood.
i'm happy to report they are fresh as a daisy and have only improved with age.
i thought about smoking a joint prior to the show, (it felt like some kind of acting out/mid~life crisis.)
but opted to drink red wine instead. my long~time friend," penny" aka glen meadmore joined me for a drink, even though he doesn't drink. penny was green with envy he could not get a ticket. he opted to watch on monitor in the cafe @ 10:30pm.
the music was better than anything in this cultural wasteland called pop music, the 3D beautiful, and acoustics @ disney hall are pitch perfect.
what a treat! i was so happy, as was the audience. it boggles my mind to think this music is 35~40 years old!
creator and the only original band member~Ralf Hütter was the last to give his robotic bows to an over~joyed crowd. immediately after the show i walked the gardens of disney hall. i love the delft chard fountain. it was surprisingly empty and eerily quite. what a special night.

WILDCAT ROBOT
This robot called WILDCAT is based on the same design as Cheetah, but doesn't have the tethered power cable of its predecessor; instead, it has a large—and quite loud!—motor attached to it.
WildCat can reach 16mph. that's faster than most of us can run, WildCat can keep up that speed for as long as it motor runs.
say good~bye to humans.
