Pima County sheriff’s deputies are in contact with Los Angeles authorities to determine whether body parts found near the Hollywood sign this week are related to the dismembered body discovered in the desert nearly two weeks ago.
The sheriff’s department has asked authorities in Los Angeles to “expedite a DNA comparison as soon as possible,” to determine if the parts are related to the headless body found west of Tucson, said Pima County sheriff's Bureau Chief Rick Kastigar.
A man’s body was found on the side of a dirt road on Jan. 6 west of the Tucson Mountains by two men cutting grass to feed their animals. The man’s head, hands and feet were missing and were not found.
On Tuesday a man’s head was found near the Hollywood sign in Los Angeles. Hands and feet possibly belonging to the same person were also found in the area Wednesday.
