MELANCHOLIA.... what can i say.... his creation of dogma style filmmaking way back in the 90s was epic. i LOVED Antichrist, i thought Breaking The Waves, Dancer In The Dark and Dogville changed the way films are created. The Kingdom series are absolute genius..
this film.....
the first scene- the wedding~ is great... udo keir is brilliant.
charlotte rampling brilliant.... kirsten dunst not so much..
she is out of her league. i usually love charlotte gainsbourg, but in this film she's trying too hard.
the second part- the end of the world~.. i just don't get it... it think it's very hard to create an end of the world flick without it being a disaster film.
in fact i've never seen it done.
