i had another sweet reunion with my pal from back in the punk dayz- MONICA MAY. we used to see each other @ all the punk haunts back in the day- the ANTICLUB, PUNK NIGHT @ FLIPPERS, (a rollerskate disco in west hollywood, now a drug store on la cienaga & SM blvd) later on THE VEIL, (the first neo-romantic/early goth club in LA) and numerous parties!

for awhile she ran NORTH bar on sunset blvd, (the original location of NUMBERS restaurant for high-priced hustler's and their johns)
monica, along with her GF- KRISTEN TRATTNER, now own & run NICKEL DINER, in downtown LA. the place is great looking and the food delicious! check it out.... take the red line.

ReplyDeleteTalk about synchronicity -- I just saw The Nickel Diner being covered on "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" on the Food Channel a couple of nights ago. The idea of a bacon donut is scary yet intriguing at the same time...
