OCCUPY DENVER-
Halliburton, anyone?
These guys profit off of war and death. And you'll notice one of their P.O. addresses for corporate office is located in Dubai, a tax haven.
To sum it up, they support the war on oil fields (terror) and aren't too fond of paying taxes --
although they'll gladly accept YOUR tax payments in the form of no-bid contracts.
OCCUPY HALLIBURTON-
To break the ice, I name Monsanto.
They have monopolized our food supply by genetically modifying crops and patenting "life".
This is but the tip of the iceberg for these guys. I invite everyone to post their company of choice and office locations.

WHY EAT? YOU'LL BE DEAD SOON
AMERICA IS BECOMING- "THE LAND OF THE CRUEL."
leave it to texas to lead the way-
Death-row inmates headed to their executions will no longer be able to pick what they’d like for their last meal.
Brad Livingston, executive director of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, issued this statement in response to concerns from Texas Senate Criminal Justice Committee Chairman John Whitmire:
“I believe Senator Whitmire’s concerns regarding the practice of allowing death row offenders to choose their last meal are valid.
Effective immediately, no such accommodations will be made. They will receive the same meal served to other offenders on the unit.”

RICK CASTRO'S FIRST COMPOSITION
i've been having this ongoing debate with my bremen, (germany) corespondent- JAN KLESSE.
he thinks the Beatles are the best thing since butter, i on the other-hand think they are responsible for the disintegration of music and music writing...
if it was not for the Beatles we would not have to deal with the tragic- Walmart-commodities like-
madonna, Britney and all that ilk.
sometimes our debate can get very heated.. we are both passionately firm in our opinions.
to prove to jan that I COULD WRITE LYRICS JUST AS GOOD AS THE BEATLES,
i sent him something off the cuff.... much to my dismay he created a song!
so here my dear antebellumblog readers i give you-

VON GLOEDEN
BARON WILHELM VON GLOEDEN,(September 16, 1856 – February 16, 1931)
was a German photographer who worked mainly in Italy. He is mostly known for his pastoral nude studies of Sicilian boys, (specifically taormina) which usually featured props such as wreaths or amphoras suggesting a setting in the Greece or Italy of antiquity.
From a modern standpoint, his work is commendable due to his controlled use of lighting as well as the often elegant poses of his models. Innovative use of photographic filters and special body makeup (a mixture of milk, olive oil, and glycerin) to disguise skin blemishes contribute to the artistic perfection of his works.
Famous in his own day, his work was subsequently eclipsed for close to a century, only to re-emerge in recent times as
"the most important gay visual artist of the pre–World War I era" according to Thomas Waugh.

DADT IS OVER
"DON'T ASK, DON'T TELL" (DADT)
was the official United States policy on homosexuals serving in the military from December 21, 1993 to September 20, 2011.
AS OF TODAY- SEPTEMBER 2011- DADT IS OVER!
The policy prohibited military personnel from discriminating against or harassing closeted homosexual or bisexual service members or applicants, while barring openly gay, lesbian, or bisexual persons from military service. The restrictions were mandated by United States federal law
The policy prohibited people who "demonstrate a propensity or intent to engage in homosexual acts" from serving in the armed forces of the United States, because their presence "would create an unacceptable risk to the high standards of morale, good order and discipline, and unit cohesion that are the essence of military capability."
The act prohibited any homosexual or bisexual person from disclosing his or her sexual orientation or from speaking about any homosexual relationships, including marriages or other familial attributes, while serving in the United States armed forces.
The act specified that service members who disclose that they are homosexual or engage in homosexual conduct should be separated (discharged) except when a service member's conduct was "for the purpose of avoiding or terminating military service" or when it "would not be in the best interest of the armed forces".
The "don't ask" part of the DADT policy specified that superiors should not initiate investigation of a service member's orientation without witnessing disallowed behaviors, though credible evidence of homosexual behavior could be used initiate an investigation. Unauthorized investigations and harassment of suspected servicemen and women led to an expansion of the policy to "don't ask, don't tell, don't pursue, don't harass."
A congressional bill to repeal DADT was enacted in December 2010, specifying that the policy would remain in place until the President, the Secretary of Defense, and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff certified that repeal would not harm military readiness, followed by a 60-day waiting period.
A July 6, 2011 ruling from a federal appeals court barred further enforcement of the U.S. military's ban on openly gay service members. President Barack Obama, Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, and Admiral Mike Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, sent that certification to Congress on July 22, 2011, which set the end of DADT for TODAY- September 20, 2011.
I would like to welcome the military & armed forces to the 21st century.
