TEACHER OF THE YEAR?
A Florida high school's "Teacher of the Year" has been suspended for an anti-gay post he wrote on his Facebook.
JERRY BUELL, a history teacher at Mount Dora High School in Mount Dora, Fla.
wrote on his Facebook page that he "almost threw up" when he was having dinner and news came on of New York's decision to allow same-sex marriage showed up July 25.
"If they want to call it a union, go ahead," Buell wrote, according to ClickOrlando.com. "But don't insult a man and woman's marriage by throwing it in the same cesspool as same-sex whatever! God will not be mocked. When did this sin become acceptable???"
When his Facebook friends retaliated against his comments, Buell published a second post:
"If one doesn't like the most recently posted opinion, based on Biblical principals and God's law,
then go ahead and un-friend me. I'll miss you like I miss my kidney stone from 1994."
The page has since been removed and Buell was initially reassigned before the suspension for violation of the school's social media policy. Buell's page on the Mount Dora school website is also now blank.
"[I was] exercising what I believed as a social studies teacher to be my First Amendment rights," Buell told Fox News Radio.
Officials say Buell had over 700 Facebook friends, therefore rendering his comments public.
Meanwhile, there's a likelihood that Buell won't be able to teach when the school year starts Monday. And though Buell's Facebook friends initially lashed out at him for his comments, a NEW PAGE has sprouted in support of his cause, largely advocating for separation of profession and personal beliefs.
"It wasn't out of hatred," Buell told the Sentinel of his post. "It was about the way I interpret things."
since mr. buell stated he's exercising his 1st amendment- freedom of speech rights,
here is his FACEBOOK PAGE so you also can exercise yours-

RECIPE TO REMEMBER
EASY GAZPACHO
Today’s recipe comes from a need to use up some ripe tomatoes and produce.
I found a bag of about six limes and a bag of about eight large jalapeno chilies.
This makes simple, refreshing appetizer for our desert summer weather.
Easy Gazpacho
1 onion, quartered
3 large jalapenos, seeded and quartered
4 ripe tomatoes
1 clove garlic
The juice of 1 lime
Salt to taste
1 lime quartered, reserved for garnish
In a blender put all ingredients except the lime for garnish. Blend until puréed. Serve immediately.
If making ahead, you will need to re-blend as the gazpacho separates over time.

MARKUS ROSENBERG- THE MOST HONEST MAN IN GERMANY
Numbers are the simplest form of truth.
But because it is so easy to express something in numbers, people rather stick to that kind of truth instead of finding a higher truth. So people talk about how much money they have, how many people they have had sex with, how good their grades are and so on.
But in fact these numbers don t say too much, at least not about somebody's happiness while they are used as a measure for it.
But there is one thing in life that deals with numbers the only way possible. That thing is SOCCER.
In soccer you don't express something in numbers. Using numbers is not an ineffectual way to find a truth that lies somewhere else. In soccer, the number itself is the truth. The number of goals you score doesn t express anything else but the number of goals and is the only thing that counts. So the one who scores a goal is always right.
On that account, the most honest man in Germany at the moment is
MARKUS ROSENBERG.
The Swedish striker had his comeback in the German Bundesliga after being away for one year on loan in Spain.
On the first match-day he scored two goals for his team, Werder Bremen, in their 2-0 victory over Kaiserslautern.
WOW!

ELVIS PRESLEY DIED TODAY
Elvis Aaron Presleya (January 8, 1935 – August 16, 1977) was one of the most popular American singers of the 20th century.
He is often referred to as the "King of Rock and Roll" or simply "the King".
Born in Tupelo, Mississippi, Presley moved to Memphis, Tennessee, with his family at the age of 13.
He began his career there in 1954 when Sun Records owner Sam Phillips, eager to bring the sound of black-American music to a wider audience, saw in Presley the means to realize his ambition. Accompanied by guitarist Scotty Moore and bassist Bill Black, Presley was one of the originators of rockabilly, an uptempo, backbeat-driven fusion of country and rhythm and blues.
RCA Victor acquired his contract in a deal arranged by Colonel Tom Parker, who would manage the singer for over two decades. Presley's first RCA single, "Heartbreak Hotel", released in January 1956, was a number one hit. He became the leading figure of the newly popular sound of rock and roll with a series of network television appearances and chart-topping records. His energized interpretations of songs, many from African American sources, and his uninhibited performance style made him enormously popular—and controversial. In November 1956, he made his film debut in Love Me Tender.
Conscripted into military service in 1958, Presley relaunched his recording career two years later with some of his most commercially successful work. He staged few concerts, however, and, guided by Parker, proceeded to devote much of the 1960s to making Hollywood movies and soundtrack albums, most of them critically derided. In 1968, after seven years away from the stage, he returned to live performance in a celebrated comeback television special that led to an extended Las Vegas concert residency and a string of profitable tours. In 1973, Presley staged the first concert broadcast globally via satellite, Aloha from Hawaii, seen by approximately 1.5 billion viewers. Prescription drug abuse severely compromised his health, and he died suddenly in 1977 at the age of 42.
Presley is regarded as one of the most important figures of 20th-century popular culture. He had a versatile voice and unusually wide success encompassing many genres, including country, pop ballads, gospel, and blues. He is the best-selling solo artist in the history of popular music.
if elvis was alive he would be 76 years of age.
and then there's michele bachamann wishing him the happiest bday ever!-
CHARLES BUKOWSKI WOULD BE 91 TODAY
CHARLES BUKOWSKI, (born Heinrich Karl Bukowski; August 16, 1920 – March 9, 1994)
was an American poet, novelist and short story writer. His writing was influenced by the social, cultural and economic ambience of his home city of Los Angeles. It is marked by an emphasis on the ordinary lives of poor Americans, the act of writing, alcohol, relationships with women and the drudgery of work. Bukowski wrote thousands of poems, hundreds of short stories and six novels, eventually publishing over sixty books. In 1986 Time called Bukowski a "laureate of American lowlife".
Bukowski lived most of his life in East Hollywood area, (this is the area i have lived for 11 years). in the late 70s he moved to san pedro with Linda Lee Beighle.
Bukowski died of leukemia on March 9, 1994, in San Pedro, California, aged 73, shortly after completing his last novel, Pulp.
His gravestone reads: "Don't Try", a phrase which Bukowski uses in one of his poems, advising aspiring writers and poets about inspiration and creativity. Bukowski explained the phrase in a 1963 letter to John William Corrington: "Somebody at one of these places [...] asked me: 'What do you do? How do you write, create?' You don't, I told them. You don't try. That's very important: 'not' to try, either for Cadillacs, creation or immortality. You wait, and if nothing happens, you wait some more. It's like a bug high on the wall. You wait for it to come to you. When it gets close enough you reach out, slap out and kill it. Or if you like its looks you make a pet out of it."
In 2007 there was a movement to save Bukowski's bungalow at 5124 De Longpre Ave. from destruction.
bukowski was long-time friends with baroque bookshop owner- RED STODOLSKY, who carried many of his writings and first editions.
BAROQUE BOOKS is now ANTEBELLUM. this last march 21st, i along with linda lee- beighie-bulowski, family & friends dedicated a permanent plaque for
RED STODOLSKY in front of antebellum.

THE GENIUS OF THE CROWD- BY CHARLES BUKOWSKI
there is enough treachery, hatred violence absurdity in the average
human being to supply any given army on any given day
and the best at murder are those who preach against it
and the best at hate are those who preach love
and the best at war finally are those who preach peace
those who preach god, need god
those who preach peace do not have peace
those who preach love do not have love
beware the preachers
beware the knowers
beware those who are always reading books
beware those who either detest poverty
or are proud of it
beware those quick to praise
for they need praise in return
beware those who are quick to censor
they are afraid of what they do not know
beware those who seek constant crowds for
they are nothing alone
beware the average man the average woman
beware their love, their love is average
seeks average
but there is genius in their hatred
there is enough genius in their hatred to kill you
to kill anybody
not wanting solitude
not understanding solitude
they will attempt to destroy anything
that differs from their own
not being able to create art
they will not understand art
they will consider their failure as creators
only as a failure of the world
not being able to love fully
they will believe your love incomplete
and then they will hate you
and their hatred will be perfect
like a shining diamond
like a knife
like a mountain
like a tiger
like hemlock
their finest art.

THE TUSKEGEE EXPERIMENT
The Tuskegee experiment, (also known as the Tuskegee syphilis study or Public Health Service syphilis study)
was an infamous clinical study conducted between 1932 and 1972 in Tuskegee, Alabama by the U.S. Public Health Service to study the natural progression of untreated syphilis in poor, rural black men who thought they were receiving free health care from the U.S. government.

WHAT WILL BECOME OF HINKLE?
let's seee... anthony wiener had to step down for merely sending nude photos to a woman.... but of course he's a democrat.
INDIANA STATE FAIR COLLAPSE
i guess i can be accused of being a "tragedy queen,"
this footage of the collapse is incredible.
it's so real and up-close, it almost looks unreal.
see what happens when you grow up in hollywood? fantasy-reality and tragedy get blurred.
HOLLYWOODLAND TO DIE FOR
last night i went to a delightful presentation @ my hollywood neighbor-
LARRY EDMUND'S BOOKSHOP....
author CHRIS EPTING & Dearly Departed Tours
SCOTT MICHAELS were at Larry Edmunds Bookshop
with slides and conversation about where celebrities have died.
Part Hollywood location history, part celebrity history, Chris signing one of several his books including, “James Dean Died Here” & “Marilyn Monroe Dyed Here” and Scott had dvds on-hand, “Dearly Departed” & “Six Degrees of Helter Skelter.”
my doll of a friend ALURA, had previously loaned me a collection of this series, so i was well-versed in the tragedy genre.
911 FOR KIDS
it was sweet of MIKE HUCKABEE to create a 911 cartoon for kids,
so they would be able to understand "what really happened."
interesting how certain characters have southern accents, some have dreadlocks, and others look mean.
also interesting is that they left out the killing of osama bin laden and who actually did it.
the full video is only $9.95 and has been advertised on pat roberts 700 club.
here are some quotes from satisfied viewers-
"My daughter was just an infant when 9/11 happened, and it's always been hard for me to try and explain why we were attacked. But this video really helped me to show her what happened and what American did about it in a way she could understand.
-- Robyn B., Ventura, CA."
"I'd like to see the kids from 9/11 whose fathers died go to college, not have to pay a nickel, let's educate them the right way, not for a person to take the money and put it in their pocket," Riches said. "I think that's blood money, it'll come back to haunt them someday."
--- retired NYC fire chief Jim Riches,( whose firefighter son died on September 11)
"i urge you not to let the liberal media tell you how to educate your kids. They deserve to understand the truth, even though the media and educational establishment will fight like crazy to keep them from knowing it,"
